Fracking is band (but not abolished)

I often hear people say, “I’m not political” or “there’s nothin’ we can do about it” This is often because, when it comes to matters that don’t involve us directly, we allow the idea that it’s someone else’s priority to escape the deeper moral obligation that humanity has to sustaining the earth that sustains us.

Society by it’s definition, means we’re all part of the larger whole. We all need to draw from nature to get through life. Affecting nature negitively will effect others’. We should nurturing our surroundings and extending good living for ourselves and everyone else. See Edith Stein’s work on Empathy, analysing how humans understand the conscious experiences of others.

We all have a moral obligation to do what’s right for the natural world and our fellow humans, especially those who haven’t yet been born.

When I learned of Fracking I was shocked that it was actually being used for a long time. What will the world be like in years to come if fracking is allowed to continue anywhere or, worse still, to happen in this small country like Ireland?

Well, it has come close our door, there’s loads of information online. I wrote a song about it purely because I was shocked that people engage in this activity as “a fix” for our energy needs.

Fracking is not the answer, it’s an opportunity for temporary financial gain by entrepreneurs and those who won’t ever be affected by the damage caused.

Here’s a few examples of the kind of long-term problems other people are suffering; Here Here Here Here

I couldn’t think of a good name for the song so I called it The Fracking Song and received loads of feedback from people who felt “let down” that the song wasn’t pro-fracking. I’m not and never will be pro-fracking.

Currently fracking is banned in Ireland. However, banned is not abolished.

Here the song.
